The River East Public Library provides wonderful programs that are well attended and enjoyable for children, families and adults. In 2014, the library provided 205 programs that were attended by 4,415 people of which 2,980 were children. Unfortunately, due to the fact library funding has not increased since 1962 when it became tax funded, one of the items that the library may be forced to cut will be programming. The library needs funds to repair urgent items and to keep the building safe for all to enjoy. The upcoming referendum will allow the library to keep existing programs, repair urgent items to keep the building safe and add additional programming.
